5 last night gets me to 61.7/100. A get myself and my pal around a half on Sunday is this weeks plan, no pressure as life has impacted pal’s ability to train so it’s a moving catch up and by forecast in the rain (again) |

Gobi - wisdom as always. Me, not so much! Bet the other thing you can't fathom is how one can motivate oneself to go for a "rubbish" time 3.30 - 3.40 (Rubbish here means slower than my personal better times of yesteryear and not intended to apply to anyone else's goal.) I have had to invent things like "quicker than my 38 year old self" and "similar WAVA" etc. Getting old and slow is hard to take! G |

HG - I raised myself for a last hurrah of a 2.59 a little while back which back in the day was a nice jog. All racing up to 13 miles and my training said this goal was EASY. While in no aerobic distress all the reasons doctors told me to stop surfaced and my long time retired body fell apart. I limped home in 3.11(my 2nd worst road mara). I had to make the finish to put something to bed. I hated it but finally understood why people totter on to the finishing line. I didn't want my last race to be a DNF. I realised if it was a few years would pass and I'd be dumb enough to try again. Age does indeed suck!!! |

I still dream of a GFA (sub 4) but I would need to actually lose the excess lard I have been trying to lose for years ION my pace this month is currently averaging a minute a mile less than last month and that's even with a long race that was at a slower pace than my current average So I am going in the right direction but a huge amount of work to do if dream is to become a reality |

I say that I would love to put in the miles and miles, Gobi - but somehow other stuff always seems to get first dibs on my time - including getting some sleep, otheriwse I’d remember how to get up and out the door early |

Rosehip life is all in the choices. I train more now than when I did 100 mile running weeks. |
