6 before and after parkrun volunteering on Sat kicks off July. But couldn't run Sunday as the calf is still a problem. Really wish it would go away! G

So frustrating! I had that last year. I think it was exasperated because I just wouldn't give myself enough time to recover having booked to do Chester Marathon. It took much longer for the calf to get back to full strength in the long run.
Hope it clears up for you soon.

Thanks Ness. I've been doing strength exercises, but maybe need to do more. G

Good idea. I've added extra set of calf raises with dumbbells into my weight training sessions which seems to have helped me.

Careful that the calf exercises are actually not making the calf worse. When I had calf issues it needed rest not strengthening .

That's the thing that drives me potty about niggles, is it rest, or stretch or strength or something else to fix it? I could just "run through" this one, cos it's not that bad. And actually doesn't hurt much when running, feel it more next day. I'll keep plugging away! G

With me, niggles are usually the result of something else being a bit out of kilter higher up the chain
15.1/100 after this morning’s little outing.

15.3/100 for me. Today is a holiday here so I could run later, but it’s hot and humid. 🥵

8.8/100 after a morning run around a lake that looked around 5km but in the end about 4.7 - would still be a good parkrun location.
