Mr Ness says my running pace is hindered by my awkward stride pattern because of my resurfaced hip. I'm trying to use some of the exercises I do in weight training to improve hip flexibility (squats, lunges etc) but I'm not sure if it's helping.

Gobi thanks I'll try that. In photos I seem to also run upright and each step is if I'm stopping myself.

48/161km (30/100mi) after todays shuffle. Hoping to add another 20km (12mi) to that tally this week as my recovery from the marathon, then next week i'll get on it again.

Pam, Gobi can advise you better, but for running form our club coaches tell us to "lead with pelvis". Imagine a rope around your hips pulling you forward. Chest and head stay up and tall looking forward not down. Tippy tappy short light steps.

Some shoes sound slappy I note too. Where others, same running form, don't. So you could just blame shoes?! ;-) :-) G

Pam runs so most of what HappyG(rrr) says is right , rather than lead from the pelvis I always say lean from the ankles not the waist.

What Gobi says is what my chi running coach said many moons ago shorter steps and light tippy tappy feet as 😄G said. Means I have an excuse for no flying feet photos!
