As stated elsewhere, I have gone from a dreadmill hater to a treadmill lover. My advice would be to get the best one you can afford. I don't have one, I use a quality treadmill at the gym and it is great.

I was going to investigate the gym treadmills this morning, but unusually they were both in use (it was p&ssing down outside) One has a decent gradient and the other is one of the weird, curved self propelling ones. I may find them useful now I don’t have the room I was going to use for one at home. |

Ness, me too. I've gone as far as telling my brother and his partner that after their visit at the end of this month they'll be staying in a hotel from now on as the only furniture in the spare bedroom will be a treadmill! I'm finding it all very confusing about what to buy. I want to buy locally so that I can have it delivered and set up. Prices range from £1,000 to £4,000. I want a decent one, but I'm only intending to use it when the weather is too risky for outdoor running, so £4,000 is out of the question. I think I'll go at the weekend and have a look at them instore. |

Club run this evening. Rain stopped just as we were about to get going. Thought we were going to get away with it, but then it started again 5 mins from the end of the run! 8/100

Good idea to take a look at treadmills in a store if you can, Tikka Even if you then go away and find a model with the same specifications online. I also think being sure you're ok with its maintenance is important. (Mr Ness used to do all the checking the belt etc. on ours) Nevertheless, I still think it's worth having.

In the absence of Mr Ness, I will need someone to carry it upstairs for me, set it up and tell me how it works - it’s at least 8 years since I was last on a treadmill in a gym!
