I'm loving my FOUR pairs of Karrimors (three x tempo and one x Dumo 2) for £80 it total, that will see a minimum of 2,000 miles But I refuse to pay that sort of wonga for 'just' a pair of shoes. At my level I can get major gains in performance by smart(er) training and better hydration/nutrition, than marginal gains from techie shoes.
You pay your money and take your choice.

I managed to do 157 miles in January and am very happy with that. I suppose the hardest part is to maintain the 💯 per month for 2020. Good luck everyone and I am totally inspired by you all.👍👍

I'm sure that's mostly true, FR. Having pretty much optimised all the obvious factors last year, I threw some ideas about and decided that the most cost-effective way of harnessing some marginal gains would be an investment (around £170, as I recall, taking advantage of site discounts and a cashback link) in a footwear upgrade for racing.

Nice one V'Rap. I'm just too much of a tight wad to part with that amount.
I've made an exception for Lakeland 100 shoes, but the Hoka Challenger v5 ATR are a snip (in comparison) at £85.

Thank you Ness, it's good to see a tick against my name again at last.
Feb off to a slow (ie 0 so far) start as I had a dizzy spell in Sainsbo's and was therefore discouraged from going out for the run on the plan. The fact that it's windy again meant I didn't argue with the husband. (Apparently it's OK for me to be up a ladder washing a ceiling though )

I think they are a worthwhile investment for you, Vrap. For a slow plodder like me I’m not sure. £90 (what I paid for my current Brooks Pureflows) is the maximum I’d go to.
Glad the “roll of honour” is appreciated. I’m always in awe of the amazing mileages people log on here.
I’ve started February with a 9 miler this afternoon.

Cheese for the round up Ness!
Some amazing totals for last month, well some Roberto, Paul, Stu (I’m sure I’ve missed others who did big miles, apologies!)
Off the mark with 3.1/100 at Cosmeston Lakes parkrun this morning.
