Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

LOL 😂, Pedroscalls. Not sure what was happening but as well as stopping cars they weren't letting pedestrians through either.

45/100 after the Wirral Half - final race in the WST - pretty happy with a time of just sub 1.54 and an improvement on last year's overall time around of about 8 minutes I think. Pretty confident I hung onto 2nd LV50 but the final standings aren't out yet.

89/100, will pass 100 tomorrow on my long run. I'm well over 100 miles on foot as I've 30 miles of hillwalking so far this month too

Great work SM6. Are you following a high volume low intensity plan or does that include some speedy stuff?

Fenners - Not following any really plan. I'm trying to make sure I get a long run on a Sunday or Monday, and a decent length (12-15 miles) on a Wednesday evening as those are the 2 runs I feel benefit me the most. Beyond that, it's pretty much a case of what I feel like doing on any given day. I do usually end up doing speedwork once a week as I enjoy training with my running group, but a lot of the sessions aren't really geared to what I'm aiming for.

Little structure to my training which obviously isn't ideal but at least I enjoy my running at the moment (and I feel I'm running pretty well) so that's the main thing :)

SM6, I always have a sneaky suspicion that running gurus come up with their plans like that. One long run, one medium, increase distance during the build up, couple of recovery weeks, bit of a taper, few random speed sessions, job done. Chick in a bit about stretching, either eat carbs or avoid carbs, bingo, best seller. Us numpties follow it like it's been written by the messiah !
