disorganized DNF. Delayed at Aylesbury & started nearly 1hr late; navigational catastrophies; retired 3M from Goring when that checkpoint closed; covered around 50M by midnight; started off on Icknield Way by mistake, visiting Bridgewater Monument 2 or 3 times and touring Ashcroft Estate quite thoroughly, enjoying the woods shaded from the hot sun; wonderfully enjoyable all the way except maybe for Grymm's Ditch which was a bit of a trial - v narrow nettled path, lots of tree roots, so necessarily slow in the dark. Moon no help when completely lost on Golf Course nr Nuffield and had to escape down steep bank onto main road and go round it.

Self D Awesome run, great aid stations, all you need is something to drink between CP's, the food they provide you with is superb. Beautiful scenery, great camaraderie, pretty well signed (only got lost once, added maybe four miles to distance, bugger). Loved the run, but could run it better, got tendonitis in left foot from half way onwards and took shed loads of pain killers. Foot was huge when finished and didn't run for 2weeks after. Was a niggle prior to the race, should've known, but far too stubborn! Will run it again, maybe in 2011, need to get a a good sub 20hr time. Unfinished business!!!!!
