AlB Yay - properly under 42 minutes a new PB and 1st FV45! Calves were tight from Thursday so wore compression socks. Had a massage after too. Right calf is sore. But am happy happy.

Dull Napoleon™ Went off hard and tried to hang onto anyone who overtook me. I suffered badly as a result 1h 18.56 and 2h 20.20. Probably would have got a sub 39 had I been less adventurous.

JPK Injured quad, so took it easy. This is for sure a pb course, flat with long straights and plenty of room to overtake.

Keefy Beefy Finally got the sub 40! Was paced around by Gobi, who was out for a jog after yesterday's 50K race :-) Arrived at 9K almost bang on 36:00 (as promised) and just had to run in hard to sneak inside 40. A good and well organised event but, as discussed with MarkC beforehand, not the kind of race that is going to make it into the RW reviews due it's somewhat barren setting. The course is good for a PB if you get decent weather, and it was just decent enough for me today. A strong wind down the finishing straight might have spoiled the plan!

MarkC A disappointing run but a good, honest look at my training log for August would suggest this was about as good as I was going to get. Any serious hope of going sub-40 in company with KeefyBeefy and Gobi was lost after about 5k. I blew up very badly at 6k (having clocked a 5k distance PB at around 20:20) and my mind was never in it. Lacked focus (at one point I caught myself going

pudding monster would love to finally break 40 minutes here - probably won't be helped by the 5m race on Friday though.

Rach E Pleased with my race today as it shows I'm getting back to Yateley 1 shape. 37:22 and was *relatively* consistent throughout race. Course measured as 10.10km so it would have been a PB if it were the right length. 2nd lady to Jane Preen who I had a very nice race with. I worked hard today. Reasonably nice course but a couple of hairpins and twists to negotiate. 3:36 3:37 3:38 3:39 3:42 3:48 3:48 3:51 3:59 (very long km) 3:40
