Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

A.C nice race, flatish course, twists and turns slow the pace a bit but a good start to the year. I can still feel the turkey from christmas tho'

BrianJ Really enjoyed this race, best organised one so far. Weather was good for time of year - sunny though a bit windy. Very flat course as well.

Chaz My 10 mile split at St. Neots Half was 64m26s, only 2s slower than my current PB over 10miles, so i am confident of a PB on this outing. Training going well. Update 10th Jan: I will run a PB at this race. Looking at the diary, I managed to survive christmas and New Year without losing too many sessions and getting good sensations in training. Perhaps a sub 63 is on the cards if this wind stops blowing so hard...
Very pleased with a sub 64, didnt pace it brilliantly, but its a PB so who cares?

Lieutenant Lucerne Slightly outside my predicted time. A slow start (a little bit crowded) and a few sluggish early miles got me to half way in 36:15. Fortunately I was able to pick up the pace along the old railway line stretch, so a decent second half to the race.
A good course, with very little traffic. Thanks to the organisers, marshals, police and volunteers etc.

Marts YES YES YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!! 3rd time lucky on the sub 60 quest 27th of 770. Looked at map and guessed last 2 miles could be blustery so decided to go for it and reached half way in 29:11. looking good still at 7 miles in 41:12 then wind kicked in and thought I'd blown it in last mile but dug in (and could hear No 8 shouting) so forced by aching bones onwards. Hurray can start enjoying 10 milers now the pressure's gone. 8 broke the hour too. Glad it wasn't 11 mile race though or I'd have been crawling:)

No.8 â„¢ YEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

Got started and took a while to settle in, by 4m thought I'm cruising and went through half way with 20 odd seconds to spare. 7m - 8m was tough and doubts crept in, but had to keep pushing. 8m - 9m was a whole mile of mental arithmatic, even though it was simple - 6 x 8 = 48 and 6 x 9 = 54 and there was a brisk headwind and no one to hide behind. Mile 9 the realisation crept in that it was on if I did anything faster than a 6:06 last mile ..... and there was still a headwind and it was really hurting.

The most welcome sight ever was the

Ultra Kanga Kazzaaaaah!! so....................the pb didn't come off. Lack of sleep, race fitness and the wind in the last three miles did for me. Got a bit tangled up in the crowd at the start so first couple of miles were fairly slow. Had a couple of good miles in there, esp the 8th where I was already beginning to struggle but managed to find an 8 min mile.

Wabo that will not be a pb, wouldn't bet on me at the mo, need to get under 1.29 to do 'fetch' pb.
Holly, told you not to bet on me!!
ANyway, I was holding back because of a tough race on sat and not wanting to mess up mara training, so to do this in mara pace I have to say I am chuffed, pb can come later!
