About this parkrun

Two and a half laps of Bedford park on tarmac paths. There is a bit of an updulation that gets steeper each lap;) but the finish is downhill.
Parking can be a bit of a pain on busy days - get there early and car-share or walk if you can.

laps of an urban park reasonable scenery.

Two-and-a-half laps on concrete, with a short uphill (to be done three times), and a corresponding gentler downhill. Briefing takes place at a nice bandstand; finish is a very welcome gentle downhill slope between flowerbeds. Nice cafe on hand too.

2.5 laps on tarmac / concrete around the park. Not quiet flat but fast. A congested start area but a pleasant run, with few on course marshals and a cafe for tea and cake.

It's a nice park easy parking if you get there early on main road. Reasonably quick with an incline but always nice to do.
Hills of Death (HOD) 22nd Mar 2019

2.5 laps. VERY busy/crowded start, so it can take a while to get into your groove. Good cake options nearby in The Pavilion or at Fancy. Hosts "5k your way" on last Saturday of the month (https://5kyourway.org/).
Wine Legs 28th May 2019

Ran on hard paths for 2 1/2 laps of the beautiful Bedford Park. Mainly flat with two very slight inclines with a great finish straight to stretch the legs on. Coffee at The Pavilion cafe in the park or take the short walk to Fancy on Roff Avenue.
Plodder Pete 28th May 2019

2.5 Lap parkrun around Bedford park which is Fast & fairly flat (slight undulation NW quarter of the park) - without a doubt road shoes.

Post Covid the route is reversed, meaning a long slow incline 3 times that can be leg sapping. But it’s Bedford, it’s not really a hill!
Not as crowded as it was now there’s another parkrun in town.

2.5 Laps, all tarmac, two slight inclines (which add up to five inclines, with the laps). Fast Course. Pretty Urban park. Good Coffee shop in the Pavilion and a good Cake Shop nearby called Fancy Bakery!

Nice two and a half lap tarmac loops of the park, a little slower post lockdown as it's turned around the opposite way.
Snoot 12th Feb 2024

Flat and fast course although it does get a bit busy and passing can be tricky on the second lap if you're fast. Cracking finish slightly downhill and straight, ideal for practicing those sprint finishes :)
