Broccers Oh my word how hot was this race. To be honest I was pretty pleased with my time and how I felt. The hills were pretty tough and there was very little shade but the drinks and sponge stations were well spaced and very welcom. All in all well organised. Pity about the few impatient drivers who drove past far to fast and abused the marshals.

SPKoF hot hot hot.

I've only done one 10m before and that was a warm evening on a flat course. Today was the hotest day of the year so far on a hilly course.

I went off too quick trying to stay with a clubmate who luckily for me pulled out so I could go slower.

By 6 miles I was dead on my feet. Even the 3 extra water stations to normal didnt help much.

Brilliantly organised, well marshalled, wine instead of a crappy T-shirt I'll never wear. The only thing wrong with this race is the date. Whats wrong with Septemper or April?

I cheered Boycie? on in the fun run as he was in afetch shirt but dont htink he heard me.

Two Towels. A personal worst for 10 miles for me, far to hot, 30c a hilly tough course.

long whatton speedster warm day, very painfull achilles. Made a challenging race, temp didnt bother me, achilles did! May be out for a few days so will switch to pool training. Felt really good all the way through, pain was excruciating at 6 miles but went away. dead chuffed to have finished 45th, first top 50 finish in the league races

SteveC We all knew it was going to be hot - and it was! Went through 6M in ~41 and felt like there could be problems ahead so took an easy mile. Actually felt pretty dizzy around 8 and blessed the organisers for laying on so many much needed water stations. Pleased to average sub 7 on such a hot day - particularly in spite of hamstring and achilles problems. However, can't moan too much as my hamstring strain is much improved by running 10M in the scorching heat! Thought they were handing out water bottles at the end only to discover it was wine - a nice touch by the organisers! [63rd out of 408]

Boycie A bloody nightmare of a race - temperature was in the 30s and although I started reasonably strongly I fell to pieces in the last three miles. Went through 7 in 46 minutes, but then took nearly 24 minutes to do the last three miles, as the temperature caught up with me. Finished 66th overall, and the winning time of 56minutes 40 was over 6 minutes down on last year. Excellent runs from Tink, Long Whatton Speedster and SteveC means the club should be well up there points wise...

Firestarter To say it was a Hot would be the under-statement of the year! That said the organisers are to be highly praised for all the much needed water stations which seemed to be sited every couple of miles or so. A good race well organised on a pleaseant if

Rich963 Very hot day, so times down (again). Managed to judge the pace pretty well though, to finish in a decent position for the club (as it was a league race). Started off with a quick mile, but quickly realised and got into 7.30 ish pace (give or take a few hills). Had (just) enough left for a bit of a sprint, but not much!
