Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hold on a minute. You should be able to bang out 2.5W/kg in your sleep, surely? Or have you put on 20Kg since I last saw you?

Z1 me old sausage, Z1. Although TBH I'd probably do a 2.5w/kg group ride on the TT to avoid getting a draft - and there's usually a few sprints as well.

Fair enough if it's Z1. More z2/z3 for me at the moment, but there's a long time between now and May - although the early April Chelmer TTs promise to be a bit ugly.

We're due to get an erupting volcano in the new year - I like volcanoes, and I like Zwift. But I'm not sure how I feel about it becoming even more "gamey". There was talk in the podcast about escaping the volcano as part of the "game". I guess as long as it's realistic, it's fine. No-one could escape a pyroclastic flow though.

Anyone else noticed they get more drafters with the last but one update? Apparently the draft effect has been improved, but I spend a lot of rides now feeling like a mother duck with her ducklings following in her wake. Sometimes people try and talk to me as well which is slightly annoying when you just want to anonymously get on with your ride. Sometimes I U-turn to drop them.

(I should add that I wouldn't U-turn on anyone in this group!)

Have noticed it's a lot busier since IOS; rather than chasing down the next target up the road I find I'm constantly overtaking/weaving a stream of riders.

I hope the new extension has lots of flat in it. People were crazy about getting the mountain extension last year, but after riding it once or twice, most now just stick to the Watopia flat loop - which is really congested.

A flat extension would be far better used than a hilly one.

GregP would like a nice aerodrome to go round if they could sort that...

I may try the mountain then if it's busy; on a wattbike not a smart trainer so it does not really matter what gradient nor am I interested in drafting. Just watts, HR and cadence.

Can Zwift simulate a 360 degree headwind, 24/7 overcast conditions and a cracked concrete road surface?

I haven't been on much recently, taking the opportunity to get outside in daylight while I'm off work! No doubt turbo time will resume before long.
