Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good effort that, bet you didn't see many people. I once tried in vain to find the true summit of Dead Man's Hill, not easy.

Saw absolutely no-one at all on the way there, right up until I got to the banks of the reservoir, where there were quite a few walkers. On the way back, a few off-road motorcyclists, a few walkers and a couple of cyclists who I saw at Scar House and again going up a very steep bit in Walden - they commented that they'd had to go the long way round where I'd gone over the top.

Interesting article from one of my neighbours:

foundationforcommonland.org.uk

I knew about the commoners, but didn't realise there were so many. What a fantastic old tradition!

Happy Yorkshire Day to you too.

I'll have been living in Yorkshire for 30 years in January :-o had family here before that though as Dad is from Leeds and we just lived away for a while before moving back.

Actually yes, as per cath, I've now lived longer in Surrey than I did in Yorkshire. I might be asked to hand back my Northerner Card!

Thankfully I still have my accent - just maybe not so broad.
