The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. And yes, I used to live just outside York and swam at the pool near the choccy factory. It always smelt amazing.

Some of you will know that last year Nestles stopped making their Caramac bar. I've always been partial to a Caramac, despite it being so thin and quickly consumed. So when Mrs GordonG went to York a few weeks ago and brought one back, I decided i'd save it for a treat.

I've been on a diet for a few months so I told myself I'd only be able to eat the Caramac if I got down to a certain weight.
