Last year they got over 4,000 entries for about 1800 places. I didn't get a place either. Vale of York is just as flat and well organised, also much easier to get into. My home town race the Tadcaster 10 is on 17th Nov if anyone is interested.

I did the BM loads of times in the early 2000s too, it was always a tricky one to get in to, but Knavesmire Harriers were decent about it and did email out the entry form to local clubs so they could get in early. This stopped when a * certain * person from my old club - and coincidentally a notorious ex-Fetchie and well-known conspiracy theorist (Jovi Runner/JR - remember her?) posted it on the Internet, the resultant storm of entries descending on the race sec before it had even opened closed that door firmly and led to some harsh words from KH and I don't blame them. Stupid woman.
