Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good guesses and not too far off🙂 Thruscross dam is not quite as ornate and more functional. Anyone else?

Only other one I know up there is Fewston and I can't remember seeing it before though I honestly couldn't see which one of Fewston or Swinsty I've actually been round.

I'd vaguely recognised it from a run I did probably more than a decade ago, but I'll admit I had to check its name, so I'll leave it for others to guess for the moment.

For those after a clue though, follow your existing ideas, but keep going north a bit, and then a bit more!

Another good guess, but I reckon Mud has it - was it the old Frostbite 30 you did? I also did that a few times.

The picture is of the outflow from Scar House, so pretty much the head of Nidderdale. The reservoir and dam provide water to Bradford.

A lot of history round there. If ever you're in Pateley to the AONB museum is well worth a visit.

It's interesting that is is associated with (rightly) Nidderdale while I think of it being close to Kettlewell in Wharfedale

Stef and I went over towards the res over Little Whernside the first day I met her. Loads of tussocks and wet ground
