Bella has even turned her nose up at a Chappie breakfast this morning :-(. She has done this once or twice before but then eats after our walk. Hope that's the case today.

48 hours til my sister comes to collect her.

Very worrying for you, LD. How does she seem otherwise?

Up to now, she's been fine - walking happily, playing with Flossie, wagging her tail. She's upside down on the sofa as I write. She is noticeably thinner - not underweight (she was rather chubby) but her waist is much more pronounced. She does seem a bit sad today though - her ears were quite flat for example.

Poor doggy. Extra worrying when you're looking after her for someone else. xx

PS Charlie is back to normal - huge puddle on the floor this morning. Well, not huge compared to a GSD or bull mastiff, but big for a little pup. He's asleep at the moment, I'm really hoping he's calmed down after yesterday. I'm tempted to think he's trying to assert his authority - lots of barking and biting. I was pleased when bedtime came last night.

Oh dear LD, does your sister know? Would she want you to take her to the vet?

She does know, D. As the vet examined her just days before they left and couldn't feel any mass or other worrying symptoms it was a 'watch and wait' diagnosis. She'd been picky about eating for some time before their departure.

She was fine on our walk, trotting along easily and normally, and followed a scent trail very determinedly into some bushes ;-), but then (after a normal poo) started straining as if she had the squits (sorry if this is TMI). We cut the walk a bit short and I brought them home. She's had a mouthful or two of Chappie, and a big drink of water, and is now asleep on the sofa.
We walked somewhere different yesterday, behind the racecourse. I didn't see her eat anything she shouldn't but maybe she picked up something there which is causing today's symptoms, as this is the first time in the 5 weeks we've had her that she's had an upset tummy like this.

We had a minor breakthrough with toleration of the vacuum cleaner this morning but yesterday evening was the worst yet for 'over excited' verging on aggressive - I nearly locked her in the other room but I want to try to find an accommodation rather than what feels like punishment. sigh

Remind me how old Bryony is, D? I know she's enormous ... but she's still quite young - my guess is that you are at that 'difficult age'! I wonder if that's why she was abandoned... she sounds indulged and encouraged rather than mistreated and probably suddenly got too much?
