Alice the Camel
Charlie was on his best behaviour at Puppy School last night. His "walking on a loose lead" was a sight to behold. The trainer says she wants to borrow him for Crufts. (She was joking, of course.)

This isn't me bragging, honest, I just needed to document the event as it's unlikely to happen again.

Not at all, Alice, he is learning what he's supposed to do. That doesn't mean he'll do it all the time, though ;-) Well done both of you :-)

How lovely Alice. What a star

I put into use something we have been doing a lot of at our new class this morning - watching. At our previous class 'watch' was the command we gave to get our dogs looking at us before we then did something else but at the new group we do quite a lot of walking around 'watching'. So today as another dog approached who I know Wanda always lunges at I asked her to watch all the time as we walked past... it may have helped that this morning's treats were the remains of a roast chicken but it was still progress :-)

I got a shocked reaction from another dog walker this morning. I don't know her name but recognise her dog, as with most people I see out walking. Her dog, big loveable fluffy pup thing, came up and stuck it's nose in the pouch I carry the training treats in. The sharp NO I gave the animal left her with a look of shock in her face :-)

Thanks for the tip about how to dry a dog who wont let you help.... "look I'm sitting still and drying my feet, how long before I can take this towel and kill it?"
