Fortunately dont have any problems with drying the hounds, just as well as most of them LOVE water! Have had a couple of occassions at Derwent Water where #6 woofhound (HWV) took off after ducks - 200 - 300m out in the pond without a care in the world and throwing a deafy... Only way to get her back is to turn and pretend to walk away... One of the few drawbacks of having gundogs which instinctivly retrieve from water... Dogs have their own (old) sofa in the dog-room, are allowed on the one in the kitchen and by invitation one or two of them are allowed onto the living room sofa with us to watch TV (mostly rugby, which #6 loves!) |

Ahh yes, Calamity Cookie when we first got him. Phoebes had a couple of incidents of her own too. Both have turned into lovely dogs but we've gone with the flow rather than been in charge of them for too long.

Do you mean this one, Sharkie?AtC I do strongly advise insuring Charlie. Admittedly he's a lot smaller than a Lab so maybe the bills wouldn't be so high, but it gives us peace of mind. My sister doesn't insure Bella; I fear when they get back this weekend and see that she's still not eating properly (though Chappie has perked her up a lot) they'll need to get some expensive investigations done |

We have needed the insurance for Cookie and Phoebe. To be fair we've probably invested as much as has been paid out. But for what we've got from it, money well spent. Especially with Phoebes scare last year.

8 A proper pack Ditto recommending insurance. I'm with Pet Plan and they paid up without any quibbles when I had to take Dexter to the vets. Great picture |
