On the plus side Alice, there shouldn't be any trouble at bedtime this evening :-)

Baroness, I was about to add - he's asleep already! I took your advice and sat with him in the utility room for about 20 minutes. When I got up to leave, so did he and we had our usual dash for the door.So I settledhim again then waitedanother5 minutes. This time he lifted his head but couldn't be bothered to race :-) Not a peep out of him. Thank you for the idea - it worked! (at least tonight)
I'm off up myself in a minute, when I've finished faffing on here :-)

Training REALLY tires dogs out - we all found that.

All that thinking and concentrating.

Ha, ha at Charlie not good at waiting his turn. Not uncommon ...

However, a lab story, particularly for Laisy Daisy. Cousin has a black working lab, Jess. It made me smile when his colleague turned up with his 3 working pointers, because ... my cousin got out some treats and all the dogs sat in a neat row with Jess in last place, getting their liver nibbles in that order. V impressed with the lab!

*polishes Flossie's halo* That's excellent, RS, thoigh in those circs Flossie would also wait her turn!

She is exercising super-canine control a lot around food at the moment. Bella is still being very picky and slow at eating, and often wanders off away from her dish leaving it half-finished, then returning a few minutes later to eat a bit more. Floss polishes her food off very speedily but just stands and looks longingly at Bella's uneaten food. I don't even have to tell her No, she knows it's not hers and she's not allowed it.

Mind you, I haven't tested her resolve by walking out of the kitchen!;-)

That is REMARKABLE for Floss! star star star star star

She is a very clever lab. Clever enough to be super good and obedient when you are there - passes gold test, behaves impeccably, leaves Bella's food etc etc...and clever enough to take advantage of when you are not... well I don't need to remind you about fruit cakes and dried fruit and hmmmmmmm. :-)

I bet it would be a different story if you picked up Bella's half eaten dish and put it just within reach on a work surface though ;-)
