Although Flossie has understood that sofas are permitted territory in this house, but not in our seaside house. Makes me think we should have held the line a bit more firmly here

Albie is very food orientated at the moment (high dose steroids) so does a good impression of a well trained dog. I just have to touch my treat pocket and he will do anything I ask and trot alongside me looking at me and ignoring distractions (other dogs running). However, if he has a sniff of some dropped food somewhere then he will totally ignore me until he’s investigated the food source as I don’t have anything that measures up to the value of a dropped sandwich or pizza or ice cream.
He lets me touch his feet but only tolerates one nail being clipped and then that’s it. I have to pick which nail most needs doing. And teeth - we struggle. His teeth have quite a bit of plaque but I can only get in for a very short brush and often forget so am not as consistent as I’d like.
We’re going on our first long road trip to France on Wednesday. He has no idea what’s in store!! Luckily he likes the car.

We are having a nightmare with Marvin at the moment as he won't let anyone near his feet so he is currently very very fluffy. A visit to the vets last week and a diagnosis of sciatica in his back and legs, some strong painkillers and he is letting us stroke him now. We go away tomorrow for a few weeks so his clippers are going with us and hopefully we can cut the fluffball feet

Charlie is still back and forth to the vet. After 8 visits since April due to cysts on the inside of his eyelids, he was referred to a specialist. We’ve had 3 visits so far and his eyes seem much better although we’ve been warned he’ll need eye drops (£56 for a tiny tube) for life. I’m now concerned as he’s got a large open wound on his top lip - possibly a cyst that he’s scratched at
We’re not back at the vet until end of September so I’m monitoring carefully. He’s still on antibiotics and steroids for his eyes so I’m not sure they can do anything else but I’m concerned about his mouth becoming infected. Dogs eh, who’d have ‘em?
