You can tell firework displays are back big-time round here, compared with 2020 and 2021. Huge amount of loud bangs and for the first time, Flossie has been unhappy with it all

Chester has been a bit scared of the fireworks, he’s shivering with his tail between his legs, but he’s following me around standing inbetween me and the noise to protect me, bless him. Back to himself now it’s (hopefully) quieter.

Thankfully Stanley is sleeping through all the bangs. We weren't sure how he'd react, but he doesn't seem to get upset by anything.

We haven’t heard a single firework - it’s much noisier when the army are on exercise up on the Plain! Fortunately Charlie has grown up with loud bangs so doesn’t bat an eyelid.

I suspect that's part of the problem for Floss, we haven't had a whole evening of loud bangs for a long time. The Scout Hut nearby has really gone all out on their display this year. It was very unfortunate that they started their display with a really loud bang just when she'd gone into the garden for a wee
