Used Millies before and it's a good quality food. Currently on raw and it's the best decision I have made. 1 small firm non smelly poop a day, no itching or tummy issues. Luna is really enjoying the variety too.

We’re on Millie’s. It’s good stuff. Only one we found that not only agreed with Ernie’s delicate tum but was acceptable to him.

Rory has Nature’s Menu True Instinct which has bits of freeze-dried meat in it. He used to have Canagan, then another one I forget the name of, then Arden Grange, but he went off all of them. (He’s currently literally sitting on my shoulder to get up higher and look out the window. Maybe I should feed him parrot food...) |

Thanks everyone. We are avoiding raw, as we are both primarily vegetarian and while we are more than happy for Arlo to have meat based food, neither of us are overly comfortable with handling it. Bought a 5kg bag to start to make sure he likes it and will switch it over next few weeks. He just isn't interested anymore in his wainwrights and we have to put cheese and ham in it. And according to allaboutdogfood, wainwrights really isn't that great. |

It’s a bit early to be considering foreign holidays yet but as we’re on the subject of food, can anyone recommend a non-meat based dog food that we’ll be allowed to take? The maximum amount for food containing meat/dairy is 2kg which isn’t going to last long. I was wondering if fish based kibble would be ok. Does anybody know?

Not tried it but a dehydrated food would last longer for the amount taken - this is £38 for a 2kg bag but obviously makes up a lot more than 2kg of food. purepetfood.com |

Arlo is getting kicked out of daycare...... for humping. They are being lovely about it but basically saying that unless he is castrated, he can't go back (they have a policy of they have to be castrated by 1 year old or can't attend anyway). I'm still really anxious about getting him done when he is only 10 months. His dog walker says he doesn't do it with the other dogs when out with her. But she is pregnant and due in August, so God knows what happens at that point and whether she can still walk him. |

That sounds really tough Roberto. I’ve been reading stuff on castration and it’s not as much of a cure all as I’d thought or as clear cut in terms of benefits. My vet advised waiting until after 1 year at least for Albie (best after fully grown). I’m not sure what I’m going to do long term. I can imagine it feels very hard to think about that type of thing at 10 months. I hope you can find a good solution. Albie has started to mount sometimes but not humping yet. It can be a behaviour that comes out with over excitement/stimulation so maybe that’s why they see it at daycare but not with the dog walker. |

I've spoken to 3 vets at the same practice who all advised different things. Might ring up and ask to speak to the most senior one. He is maturing, definitely, (as was asleep on floor last night and started twitching as he was dreaming. Woke up and there was a wet patch on the carpet). He doesn't care if its female or male apparently so some of it is definitely excitement, but he has been just focused on it today apparently and distraction isn't working which will then frustrate him |
