We had a similar firework experience with Wanda. She has been more spooked by the bangs this year than any I can remember and we had far more frantic barking than we've ever had before usually she is happy to ignore it or go out in the garden and watch them. In the end we played a game in which she has to hide her head in a bucket which helps as a distraction but mainly because once the head comes out of the bucket a treat goes in - and with the number of fireworks going off last night she was getting treats non stop. Tonight I think I'll give her a smaller amount of food and save some of her kibble as treats in case of more fireworks.

Glad Ralph and Flossie are feeling better. Rory doesn’t bark at fireworks, he goes and quietly sits at the top of the stairs and looks worried, which just kills me. On the other hand, I managed to lure him out for a very short pre-bed walk with treats, so he can’t be THAT stressed. |

Ollie is very chilled. Frankie is more uptight. However, I think he is principally defensive of the house (home territory). He barks whenever anyone walks past the house (and we have a 20ft front garden!). This is particularly a pain when (wfh) I have a 9am telecon and parents are going by to/from walking their kids to school! He barks at noises, so barks at fireworks, but I don't think he's afraid of them, just defending his territory. When he's in the house or garden, he barks at the church bells. If we're walking back through the churchyard and they start, he doesn't bat an eyelid

Hi Everyone - I have a 5 month old border collie. Was thinking of getting a tag that isn't a dangly one for when we can take him to agility etc. Any recommendations of what to get and where from? Thanks |

Brilliant to hear that it's working out for Skye and her new family. Jess was fine with fireworks years on and two but has become increasingly distressed by them. She hides under tables and desks and instead of rudely rushing into the garden 'all guns blazing' as Raffo puts it creeps along behind him for a quick wee before getting back inside as quickly as possible. Poor Jess - she's bulletproof with loud traffic and roadworks. |

^^ Lots of different options available but be aware tat if the tag gets caught on something the silicone band can break. It has only happened to us once and I was quite glad that it did (Jet got caught on/in a hedge.

HI WineLegs I am finding my collie puppy is very demanding, great fun, tries to herd me if I am not doing what he wants me to do. Working from home can be tricky when he wants to play! His name is Hector, will be 5 months on the 18th. He is red and white rather than black and white and very cute |
