Smiled as two sheepdogs threw themselves again & again into the Marina at Crosby, each retrieving its own ball as the owner launched them in turn.

Isn’t it funny how they know their own ball. Ernie lost a ball at the beach recently and I thought I’d found it but he refused to take it. On closer inspection it wasn’t his.

Tuss is a renowned ball thief/ scavenger and it’s not uncommon for him to sniff one out of the heather from tens of yards away

If there's a ball to be had Ralph will find and pinch it. If we're out with one of his balls and he finds a "spare" - he'll bring it to me and drop it at my feet - then want me to throw his for him

I've collected a dozen tennis balls, several golf balls and two cricket balls on the beach & in Crosby Coastal Park over the years. I give them to dog owners when I can, having machine washed the tennis balls.
