I guess compared to Indi he is dinky. In terms of cockapoo I don't think he is. We've met a couple of full grown poos who aren't much bigger. He is 6.6kg and 31cm tall. Foxy was in the picture as a point of comparison to an earlier pic.

Yup! My 13 year old has overtaken me.
Rookie question, what do folks do when their dog flat out refuses to go the way you want to go? Puppy instructor was clear the lead is to keep them safe and not to drag them around. Sometimes doing a loose lead exercise gets him moving but not tonight. I don't really want a dog calling the shots.

I sometimes stand and turn my back to Wanda with her at the end of the lead behind me and wait it out. I know I look a right berk and appreciate that it may not be safe to do this *everywhere* eg on a road with no pavement perhaps - but eventually she relents and follows me. I give her a treat when she does and the do a bit of heel work too to get her focussed again. But it can sometimes be a battle

Not just this situation, but in others too, I stop, turn and look away so the dog can't make eye contact. Eventually the dog works it out and obeys the command (assuming they understand what you want).

Doggy logic.
This morning I was up early and so was Jet when he heard me moving around. He usually has his breakfast at 7am, but this morning I took pity on a hungry dog who had already been up for an hour and fed him at 6am. I knew he would then be hungry before his usual dinner time of 6pm but reckoned we could adjust.
I then went to do something else and Mr got up, realised it was 7am, couldn't see me, so fed Jet his breakfast. Jet didn't argue.
Just as every other day, exactly 11 hours after I fed Jet his breakfast, he started pestering me for his dinner!

We learned with our first Lab that she would blag a second meal if she could so now we put the dried food in separate pots on a kitchen shelf so either of us can see if the meal has been served
What we call the 'tummy-clock' is astonishingly accurate too Helegant
