It's probably a misunderstanding on my part, so can you help me here please - the scores just don't seem to add up and don't correspond to the 'Running through a square earns 2 points per day' etc. e.g. I went out today and covered around 20 squares (at a conservative guess) but my score only went up by 4 points. If it was '...per week' it might make a bit more sense. Thanks.

CakeBoy: The match score is based on Squares, not Points. You own a square by earning more points in that square than your opponent. The game grid/map doesn't show you the total points in each square. Instead, it shows how many points ahead of their opponent that the square owner is. So, although you might have covered 20 squares today, your efforts gained you ownership of 4 squares that you didn't own previously.

Thanks Daddy Shark, but it's the points at the top, (not in the squares) that confuse me. It's obviously not totalling up the daily points then?

Cake boy the score at the top is the score on how many squares you own. The individual score in each square is how many times you may have visited that square. So you may have run through and walked and cycled through a square which would score you 8 points if your opponent has not been near that particular square. So the individual square will be 8-0 to you but only 1 square on the top score

Hope that helps :-)

Jenni-far-far
well it looks like I have a win for last week - but feeling a bit guilty because this is due to walking. I've never logged walks before but because a lot of my running is out of grid I've started logging it. on the plus side this is greatly envouraging me to get out more and vary my walks with the dog so am planning to continue with it

It's all good, Jenni. Well done! And walking takes more time to cover the squares compared to running so might as well include it.

Last week's match vs TeeBee has been noticeable by it's mediocrity - one logged activity each! Not sure I've seen so many unused squares before :)

Interesting stats JCB. Now I wish I'd gone through with my thought to log the walk to my next door neighbour's house a few months back to turn a 0-0 draw with Dvorak into a 1-0 win.

Only score I could add is a 125-3 win vs tiamo69.

I am finding this game a lot easier spending time at my parents place in suburbia rather than my home village. Especially now the fields at home are full of barley and rape.
