Having a mid-Monday cutoff is a good way of getting us to look at and post on the site at what might otherwise be a quiet time. That Fetch lad isn't daft
I'm having a week off and then another three-grids attempt at 200 points. I reckon I'll get it if I throw myself at it often enough, and hopefully I'll give other people in the lower reaches of the table a decent game in the process.

Having been part of this for a few weeks, and I understand the need for a bit of conversation etc about it, but I think it would happen anyway.
It does make for what seems like cheating, and I do it too, that is get 6 points clear on Sunday evening, and know you cant be caught, then switch off bluetooth on your phone, and walk Monday, and run and cycle, and they count for next week. In fact, I let some squares go below 5 so others would be tempted to do their disciplines on Monday morning so they would have to go out twice on Monday. All within the rules, but not ethical. A Sunday night cut-off would reduce these 'legal' shenanigans

I like having the noon on Monday cut off - there's a bit of activity on the thread as people are watching what happens. That would be mostly lost if it changed to midnight.

Minimag - Please don’t alter your routine on account of any general discussion of tactics or strategy. It’s working thus far, keep it up. The 2pts for walking stirred things up a bit but I don’t think anyone can argue with the increased engagement of multi as a result.
I popped out at lunch for a walk (2m) and run (4m). I’ve not uploaded yet as I considered moving grid which necessitates a laptop which necessitates a child not playing games on it but it’s getting late now so I’m just going to upload (child is in bed so I’m only a half rubbish parent.)

It's interesting what one person sees as cheating another sees as tactical.
I think, it's a game. If you run, and log it as a run, it counts. If you walk and log as a walk, it counts. Same with the bike, (the only difference is the swim, but that's another story all together!)
We are all different, some are fast, some are slower, some love to ride and have a fast bike, some live in flat places, some have savage hills. Some live in built up towns, others the middle of nowhere. Some can get to most, of not all of their grid, easily, some of us have to battle with nature.
I'll sometimes run on a Monday morning, late, knowing I won't be back till after midday (early lunch while WFH) to get a long run head start on the week. (Although my long run is much shorter than many) I call that tactical, rather than cheating. Others, I'm sure would disagree of the majority of my run was done pre midday 🤷🏼♀️

It's really interesting getting your perspectives on this (I was torn on my strategy), hearing Macca's view on this was truly eye opening. I did plan this as I got into this as an outsider, and intended to do what Boycie described as crush the opposition, i.e. make my mark from the start. That was my intention, now I can't stop

I think providing you are doing the activities you log, it's not cheating... Some weeks I'm up against Boycie's, that are just too fast and relentless for me to keep up with, and I get a red Square 🤷🏼♀️ sometimes I'm up against a cyclist who might cover many more squares than me but only 1's... It's it cheating for me to go and run specifically through his squares?
It's a game 😊 and it gets all us loons out there, running up cul de sacs, and into random carparks every week 😂

Just found DocM's blog about making the semis. And I've just blogged about not making the semis. The game really is blogworthy with what it does to your head
