Unlucky G, it looks like they uploaded an 11:00 run just after the new round started

Hi All, sorry for radio silence and thanks to Synge, ITG and mole-thing for checking in. I just had too much CBA to cope with. Work and home life were a bit tougher than normal, but only to the level that made them good hooks to hang my CBA hat on.
Lots to catch up on after reading a week of posts in 20 minutes!
Congrats GG on your gridmaster; get well soon ITG & Sam Jelfs (Sam have you left the game entirely?!); Welcome bobcox!
Hi Maccthecracker! Looks like I'm not going to get a gentle re-introduction to the game. Hopefully I'll at least participate this week!
My tuppen'orth on the issue of breaking things up so as to get lots of different activities in a short time: go for it if you want. I've not done it, but I certainly do not undertake never to do it (count the negatives!). The WSW rules limit the impact of this tactic unless we are running/biking/walking quite far anyway: Nobody will get through to quarterfinals of multiplayer or high in the 1v1 rankings mainly on the back of it. I did used to get exercised (not that sort!) by some things, but not so much any more and never this (see blog post: https://www.fetcheveryone.com/blog/16872). The joy/frustration/obsession that comes from WSW has so many variations that there can never be a level playing field (I can run to 225 squares with my single grid position but can't swim anywhere; ITG has to dig snow from her door to run for much of the year, but can seemingly ocho on a normal wet Wednesday afternoon; some are retired; some have heavy work schedules; and everything else in between).

Thank Soowoo for the great game, certainly the closest game I've ever had. I was panicking at 11:50 after your upload trying to get my activity into WSW as well

I've got Carp this week. A quick check shows she is running and cycling most days so that's another defeat coming up for me.

This is my first time in last 32 (got the badge!) So what sort of explored + ownership will I need if I want to make top 16? (I don't think there's much chance, to be honest!) Nor in 1 v 1 if Wackieracer continues as he/she started! G

After getting absolutely destroyed by Fizz in last week's 1v1, I was a bit dismayed to find I'd dropped about 20 places in the single player rankings... but at least I'm through to the final 32 in the multiplayer.
My Garmin died (again) at the end of last week, so I'm having to record my training with an app at the moment, and then upload later. I've seen some *very* odd traces with this particular app, so I may need to indulge in a bit of manual trimming until my watch is replaced.
