Cutoff is 1158 Monday. Be nice n top 64 to get into round 2. You can have a look at previous stats on my latest blog. And owned is primary metric then explored.

In the first round or two of multiplayer you either need to explore a lot, or do a small number of squares repetitively. The further you get into the game, the more important it is to own as many squares as possible.
I find that walking the dogs the same route most days certainly helps own a couple of squares...

I commute walk the same 0.5 mile to/from work every day. Does it count twice? Or just once per day? But even if only once per day x 5 is good?

once per day unless you walk one way and run back (or cycle one way)

each activity counts once per square, per day. Two walks on the same route count once, so either walk a different route one way or run/bike on way.

Nah, I'm not going to start logging walking. Walking isn't part of my training. If it doesn't involve lycra, it's not sport!

It's a game, and walking is a legitimate way to get points (after all why do you get 1 point for it). As you get to the sharp end of multiplayer you need to log walks as most people are doing multiple activities per day.
