Sigh
If anyone wants to win one week at Who Squares Wins by cheating, then eventually it'll get them sufficiently up the leaderboard that they will be regularly and robustly beaten fairly

Fetch, I wasn't answering V'rap, that idea occured to me sometime in week 2 of the game, I was answering Sam J, in the choice you have if you can run early Monday Lunchtime and when you upload your run.

I think Sigh has an excellent point
Once you get into the top 30 or so, it takes proper mileage and/or multiple activities and/or good but fair tactics to have any chance

Indeed, once you are up there, ou used the current rules to get there, you made your bed, now lie in it.

Choosing when to log your run is part of the tactics - in my mind. And late logging was encouraged by the removal of the bonus points for logging first. But once you've chosen to log a run before 12 on a Monday that has to stick whether you win or lose.

Being blessed (?) with a GPS watch that automatically uploads via bluetooth to my phone the moment that it's within range, the thought of disabling all of that functionality just to marginally improve my chances is, frankly, more hassle than its' worth.

Another thing I've not done, or tried, but presumably is possible (but shouldn't be) is that as I have quite a lot of out and back routes, rather than record as one run, you restart the watch at the halfway point - log the 'out' run today, and the 'back' run tomorrow scoring a total of 4 points rather than 2 in all of the squares

Quite, Sigh. I really CBA. Once or twice it's happened accidentally, presumably due to an uploading queue.

How long can you "cache" runs for? If by friday it looks like I have a win, can I just not upload my weekend activities unless my current opponent does something drastic, and then upload them all on monday (say 2 runs, a couple of dog walks, maybe a bike ride as well). Or what about if I take a break from the game as I am going to be out of square at the weekend, but still manage a few runs during the week that I don't upload until a week later? Just saying that whilst it might be within the rules, it might be seen as rather unsporting against your new opponent.

As Sigh says, most latest generation watches have Bluetooth or Wifi and auto upload at the end of the run. I'd consider any delaying of uploading as cheating. However, on a out and back if you walk half and run half then I consider that o.k. (as long as it really is a change of pace). Does Fetch do any monitoring of speed for activities so avoid people logs walks as runs (or vice versa)?
