Just an aside, but when people have said something along the lines of "you just haven’t found the right girlfriend." I want to stress it's entirely a personal opinion, but...It drives me up the wall.
Sorry, don't mean to pick on Meg and the sentiment behind it, but I've always found it spectacularly unhelpful for me.
For me it always sounds like "just try harder"
May just be me.
Will go away again now.

I have learned with WhatsApp to set certain groups/people up with no audible notification. I can’t be doing with my phone pinging constantly. I only have a couple of people who ping and only one who messages regularly. That way the ping is usually welcome.
Sounds like none of us are really looking for a 24/7 type relationship. I have enough going on without the need for a constant companion.

Exactly HP!
I am an introvert who.limes people so I actively seek out quality interactions with friends. This weekend for example I went to Bristol Northern Soul Club with RS. We had such an amazing evening! Then this morning we went to a yoga workshop which was possibly even more amazing.
I rather spend quality time with friends once a week than waste time on forcibly over sharing with a partner.
OK, it would be nice to have some cuddles from time to time but favourite activities are just as fulfilling shared with friends...

So just to leap back into the thread, while I'm very much not single and two pennies on the everyday thing
In my last relationship, even when it was the three year affair before we 'got together' we managed to see one another pretty much everyday, bit I am suspect that was neediness.
This time out, we're not living together, yet, we pretty much see one another every day, but in the earlier stages we message a point of two to three days space at a time.
And are better for that, I think.
Funny old world.

No Fozzy, it doesn’t mean to try harder. Its more that just because the last one (or more) didn’t work doesn’t meant there isn’t a possibility of it working with someone else, if that’s what you want.
In all relationships we have to adapt and make compromises (maybe not the right word, allowances perhaps) to make it work, but there is a level of what is acceptable to you (and then)
If someone is happy to be single that’s fine, I wouldn’t tell them they have to have a relationship, like I wouldn’t expect people to have kids. What I do know is that even some friends who were single for years ended up getting married relatively late in life.

The latter is my current setting for various reasons. The Muse lyric says it best:
