I went this afternoon, 6 months since last time. The blob didn't sink but the other test said I was just in the limit. They'd just re-stocked the orange Clubs after.

Rats. Banned for 6 months again. Should have popped some iron pills or had that broccoli bake last night!
Nothing dangerous- just below their pesky thresholds. Boo.

Oh no. Have you been doing those ultras again? I'm a bit worried as my appt is next week after my 24 hour race this weekend.

HG, I asked about the food and they said that it's a long term dietary thing rather than a quick fix a few days before. I'm sure that when I eat more spinach, liver and chilli in the few days before I usually pass first time.

I believe that although spinach is high in iron it isn’t easily absorbed for some reason. At least this is how I remember a dietician friend explaining it many years ago. Broccoli is much better apparently.

Just under a week ago. Took ages! 12 mins. I had to perform all sorts of weird movements to keep it flowing and if my wrist was slightly in the wrong position it slowed right down. Had hydrated lots so who knows, maybe a kink in my veins.
Did wonder about my iron levels as we’ve reduced our meat intake but we do eat lots of veg and eggs.

I was pinging as the flow was greatly reduced halfway, it turned out there was a kink in the tube - not my fault.

I think eating broccoli, spinach and kale in my diet is a long term thing. But 3 days popping iron pills before I think would help too!
Ultras 3 weeks before wouldn't cause a prob (I was told 24 - 48 hours to replace Hb completely) but the 21 mile, 3600 ft, 6 hour trek in the hills on Sunday *might* still have a had a small effect?
Might have got that science totally wrong though!
I know they have to have regs, but the daft thing is I'm healthy, fit and have blood to give. Anyhoo. G
