As long as your blood pressure is sufficient to support life, speed of donation has more to do with good needle placement in a good vein. Being warm and well hydrated will also help. And buttock clenching.

Being quick is fine, but if you take less than 4 minutes to donate you'll have a visit from the Head Nurse and be banned from having a hot post-donation drink.

In theory, a hot drink is more likely to result in blood being diverted to your innards and away from your brain, making you more likely to faint. In reality, a cup of coffee is unlikely to cause more problems in this regard than a triple pack of custard creams, but roolz is roolz.

@Maclennane - I'd watched 'Inside the Factory' on processed cheese the day before, so the Tuc sandwiches were not appealing to me :/
