Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What minor disaster has befallen you today?

MrsPH got a nailed by a seagull in Paris once. It was like a fishy Alice band right across the top of her head.

I am sorry for MrsPH’s misfortune but that made me snort my tea!

It’s gone down in family folklore. It was so spectacular I took a photo before helping her clean it off. Needless to say she didn’t find it quite as amusing (at the time) as the rest of us. 16 years later she can laugh at it though :-)

I made my coffee before finding T11 had finished the milk, then compounded the error by not sending him straight to the shop.

Friday the 13th brought 3 things to my brother Down Under yesterday:

He and his wife tested positive for covid.
They had 8 inches of rain.
"Then the fridge decided to fuck up all our veggies, eggs etc frozen solid."

Oh.
Mr W is back from far away bike park adventure via a car incident (hit crash barrier while trying to avoid rear-ending someone who had stopped behind a shunt on a bend, then next person went into him): I fear the relatively minor damage maybe widespread enough to have an impact on her life expectancy. Particularly galling after spending quite a bit getting her bits welded and exhaust fixed properly, her tailpipe is now squint. [She is an F reg Volvo tank, the Micra behind crumpled on impact]

Hope everyone’s ok and car survives LW.

A load of minor disasters yesterday:

Slept through alarm so late setting off
Shoe came off in a bog, got it but that led to cramp
So many sponsored walkers going the other way on single track
Didn’t realise road at back of Thirlmere is totally blocked
Shredded legs and ripped shoe trying to get round the block which didn’t work

Bit of an adventure 🙄
