My cats were the same with their collars. After going through at least 3 each, my neighbour finding them & replacing on each cat, they would "lose" their collars again in days. My killer cat Odin was also very adept at going into stealth mode & quietening his bells. Thankfully most of my neighbours know which cats are mine & they are all chipped (bonus of having chip-reading cat flap so don't get other cats being invited in).

No pressies brought in for me yet, but did come home yesterday morn to cat sick being & wedged under back door (how it gets projected under the door I don't know).

Yuck!

Chip-reading cat flap? Sounds interesting. I had to use a magnet one to stop next door's cat getting in, it was a terror and used to fight with my other cat, I once found loads of hair inside as evidence of a fight :( It used to chase her towards the road and I think probably caused her to be run over, poor little Lizzie, she was so pretty. Anyway, her brother is bigger and more of the boss, and neighbours cat is no longer around, so no need for magnet now.

Meglet, the SureFlap (think thats what its called) is brilliant. My cats kept being beaten up by a big Tom which also ate all their food & sprayed too. As all my cats are chipped, its made sense, no need for collars & only lets my cats in. When I first got it, 2 of mine ran in through the cat flap being chased by this tailess, ginger horrible tom. hey about-turned after coming in, waiting for this Tom. Its like they knew. The Tom cat head butted the catflap pretty hard & seemed bemused that he couldn't get in. Then my 2 seemingly taunted him from inside the house realising that the bully cat couldn't follow them in anymore. Saved on vets bills too, as no more injured cats.

Lol! That's a great idea. We don't use the magnet flap any more, my neighbour has a cat and they're not friends but they seem to have a truce!

We came home last night from a weekend away to find a 'present' of dead mouse and 2 dead blue tits on our bedroom floor. Not sure if it was 'welcome home' or 'that'll teach them to go away"!

hello cat lovers - would you mind if I took this thread off topic for a moment? I'm a bit worried about my cat. She is 10+ (but age unknown) is an indoor cat (her choice following a car accident 7 years ago) and is generally quite sociable. She has her favourite spot upstairs where she likes to sleep but as soon as we come home from work she comes downstairs and spends the evening sat with us on the sofa. Well, she did until recently. For the past couple of weeks she has just stayed on her bed and only really ventures off for food & to use the loo. She seems fine in herself and still eats ok and purrs if you stroke her. I'm just a bit worried about her. Or is she just getting old?

I shouldn't worry too much, SSH.
She might just be feeling a bit under the weather and therefore isn't feeling quite so sociable - which is normal for cats. Or she could be feeling her age a bit, I suppose.
