Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

What do you know today, that you did not yesterday?

dog leg warmers
my friend picked up a puppy french bulldog this week but weeks ago she bought him leg warmers (Christmas ones) and wellies (!) Christmas coat, ties jumpers, dog car seat!
I mean how have dogs lasted for millennia without leg warmers!

Most of the dog breeds around today didn’t exist millennia ago - I imagine that a lot of their natural resilience has been bred out of them.

My cats have a water bowl, which I’ve never seen them use; and a fountain, which they drink from regularly. I’m sure they’d drink from the bowl if it was the only available option, but they definitely seem to prefer the fountain.

[Just a thought: could animals consider still water less 'safe' than naturally aerated sources, such as springs or streams?]

[I could imagine the typical domestic cat drinking from anywhere other than its bowl just to mess with its slaves' heads. One of ours had us quite worried that he was ill when he suddenly took to yowling at the bathroom door when anyone was having a shower then diving into the shower tray and lapping up the water there, but we took him to the vet and he turned out to be malingering.]

Our cats would drink from bowls, but also liked the "bird water" in the garden. They always looked like they really enjoyed it, once it had developed a bit of flavour.

That was what I thought, swittle, but Vrap does make a good point...
