Underneath there was a thin layer of flour. Most of it was a golden lump, shaped like a brick. On top in the middle was little mountain of flour.
Happily it was easy to remove from the pan.

I learned a while back what you get when you remember the blade but forget the water. Which is a sort of crater of well mixed flour, slightly charred at the bottom. (Wasn't me who forgot it )

The paddle in my bread maker won't come out. I just have to pick off all the crust from round the bottom of it and hope for the best.

There's a place in Swaledale called Crackpot. On both Google Earth and OS "Standard" Maps, it disappears if you zoom in on it, but on the ordinary OS maps it is preserved.
