That the giant deer (aka Irish elk, but really it's a deer) lived on the Isle of Man. They have a skeleton in their fab museum in Douglas. 8.5ft antler span.

Britain's first helicopter crash occurred in 1945 at Twatt Airfield. That indeed there was (fnarr) a Twatt Airfield (also known as RNAS Twatt). (In an odd twist, the helicopter wasn't really flying at the time, just attempting to take off. In fact, an odd twist was the very cause of the crash.) |
