That the chirpy if darkly themed 'Seasons in the Sun' was an English reworking of a Jacques Brel song.

It's only been 50 years that this fact has eluded me.

Airport runways are numbered according to their heading (I knew that bit) and the numbering can change over time as the heading is relative to the magnetic north, which moves around.

Likewise at London (Oxford) Airport. (Previously known as Kidlington Airfield when I first started work there and pterodactyls were the preferred means of air transport).

Brel's "Le Moribond" is a lot less chirpy, and has a somewhat darker theme going through it, as Brel tells his friend of many years "I know you'll look after my wife."
