Early modern humans diverged from other human species around 200,000 years ago (possibly earlier). Does that count as recent?

The four stations on the London Monopoly Board were chosen as they were the four stations owned by the London and North Eastern Railway. Waddingtons, who owned the rights to the game in the UK, were based in Leeds and chose the locations for the London version of the game based on a single day-trip to London from Leeds. The four stations featured on the LNER map, and that was how they travelled down from Leeds. |

Not complete bollocks, though, I think. The four stations on the Monopoly board were indeed the LNER stations, and Waddingtons were based in Leeds. The Angel Islington had a plaque commemorating the fact that it was included on the board as it was the Lyons tea room where the Waddingtons director and his secretary met after they'd won the deal from Parker Brothers to produce a UK version. |

[The Lyons Tea Room being the one that opened on the spot of what was (either) the original or subsequent Angel pub, from where the area takes its name]

I always thought Fenchurch St was operated by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway but that is only half-true. The LNER ran the other half.
