I worked from home for nearly 4 years so didn’t have office banter in that time, I know having the extra income gave me more opportunities but I can manage without so I don’t really miss that either.

I was at a leaving night for a colleague on Friday. He has had enough and describes it as toxic. He isnt yet ready or able to retire but has nothing to go to yet.
The chat on Friday was who is next and also how many as there are a lot of people in the mid to late 50s who could go at any time. A huge knowledge gap could appear but there seems to be no thought to how they will deal with that.

Oh gosh Baz that sounds so familiar I often think of pur small night team as one could retire anytime now me though I have 11ish years and no one to step in
The few others don't necessarily want to do it permanently

Being paid to ride bikes, alley cat races and the whole bike courier scene in general......
Of course the money is terrible, winter sucks, cops hate us, DPD drivers try to kill us, junkies try to mug us and scrotes try to steal our bikes 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I used to love my old job, but not the people.
I used to be a cinema projectionist (pre-Digital) up to 2007, and I loved it. The only problem with the people was that, because they would only see me if there was a problem, they didn't like to see me. Unless they were asking for a staff screening of course.
Crap pay, but the amount of variety in the job was great. I still miss it now
