Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Surprised no-one has re-enlivened this thread, given the latest news.

First the UAP at Manchester airport, and for once a good set of pictures:

timesnownews.com

I have no explanation. First thought is, it's a fake (and certainly the original twitter user who posted it has disappeared after following a few UFO 'experts'), second thought it's some sort of balloon. (Apparently excellent skeptic Mick West is saying balloon, that Manchester has a problem with them, the cockpit does seem to be real so it is quite possibly real, and critically no-one has filmed the upwards motion - which probably would give away if it was a balloon). But still it's quite an interesting balloon if that is what it is!

Which leads me on to it being an interesting coincidence so part 2) where drones have been seen over US air bases for the past few nights (I think now over a fourth one too)

bbc.co.uk

This I had naturally assumed was Russian drones due to heightened tension, but apparently radio enthusiasts picked up military radio calling it a UAP (which doesn't mean anything), and there are some interesting videos of the drones responding to an F18. Again, nothing to indicate extra-terrestrial origin, but I'm surprised drone jammers haven't been used and that they seem quite sanguine about these drones buzzing US airbases (given the lockdown flap that saw weather balloons shot down and separately Gatwick shut down by a possible drone).

Of course UAP / UFO watchers, will probably know that Lakenheath was the centre of a UFO flap in the 1956, in the middle of the Suez crisis, with similar anomalies. This was made public in a CIA drop in the early 2000s:

cia.gov

Regardless of what this was, what the current drones/things are, it's an intriguing coincidence.

with respect, i assume no one posted anything on here because neither the balloon or the suspected airport drones are anything remotely alien-like.

I would definitely say it's a coincidence, but can't see any intrigue tbh.

just my opinion :-)

My wife gets frustrated when she shows me a grainy video from some bloke in Nevada on YouTube saying these flashing lights in sky are hard to explain and I say "lightning, something shining from the ground, some kind of balloon or helicopter or drone in the clouds with lights..." and she says "but you don't know it's any of those" and I reply with "you don't know it isn't" and she calls me a sceptic or a cynic.

"Skeptic" is a compliment. It's basically saying that you won't blindly believe something until you've seen some convincing evidence. It's surely the better way to be? You can't be so easily fooled by bullshit.

I can't remember who said it but there's a line that you should keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

The bbc link doesn’t show the UAP’s at all. Is ‘timesnewsnow’ a reputable source? It’s nothing to do with ‘The Times’.

The balloon at Manchester airport is all over twitter, but it's not really a BBC story is it? (But then the BBC didn't report the collapse of the Russian rouble, so I'm not sure what is a BBC story, they don't like reporting that Israelis killed children in Gaza either) The source deleted his account after posting it, which is probably why most outlets have steered clear.

But the balloon is a better than normal quality version of photo, and skeptics seem to think the video at least is genuine (there is disagreement about the size of object, initially it was said to be size of a small vehicle, I think that's agreed to be incorrect, it's smaller - more in line with weather balloon).

Motives for posting it are curious though, why would a pilot post a picture of a balloon, surely he'd know what one looked like ? Although to answer my own point, I'd point people in another direction that military/CIA videos are just as prone to hyperbole/misidentification/bullshit. A MUFON investigator came up with the best quote that people are always saying they've seen something extraordinary, but when they come to show the pictures they've taken, they're always of blurry far away lights in the sky (and are often just planes!) So even the "want to believers" are fed up with the paucity of the evidence presented.

The BBC definitely did report the fall of the rouble I remember reading it on their website. I’m no fan of the BBC.
