Interesting piece in the FT (hopefully not paywalled) about the effects on jobs of AI.

Aside from the AI content, it's interesting to note other changes in the (US) job market in recent decades. There are 4x as many HR jobs now compared with 2000, for example.

A significant part of the AI problem is in defining what is meant by intelligence.

Being fundamentally a scientist I find it hard to take seriously the claims about human originality and invention. We are biological machines, and that includes our brains.

The job market one is ever changing because of advances in tech. 300 years ago, we were all farmers and now how many of those are there? Who knew that "social media manager" world actually be a real job less than 2 decades ago.

I'm hoping we finally get to see a three or four day working week before I retire 😂
