Thanks Mrs S. Reassuring to know that he had a plan and executed it brilliantly. Good mantra as well - steady pace and no faffing.

Robert Osfield was another "start slower, finish fast" person M1nty, if you have a look at his paces/places (way quicker finish time than I'm looking at, but the principle still applies, I think).
I'm going to try to stick to "no faffing". Not sure how steady pace will be though! G

A bit late to join the discussion on Paul G entering, but I also agree that he could probably do without all the additional pressure from people analysing him! I know Bob Osfield loves his stats but he didn't need to go quite so deep into the personal analysis in a public forum... I know Paul is a superstar and his running is elite, but he's still a human and part of the WHW family (and the facebook group!!). It didn't sit well with me all the speculating about him - it's not like he's a faceless overseas elite celebrity or something.
Anyway, I had a crappy run last night at club - it was a tempo effort on trail, so 25min out and back. I took it easy and thus was just plodding along alone at the back mainly. I went to club for the social but there was noone to social with! I did come home with a tick though, does that count?
It was a crappy run also because I have a bit of a throat tickle and I was really feeling it in my chest - like my lungs were constricted. After my shopping trip to asda this afternoon I am going full on couch / hydration / snooze mode. I would hate to struggle with breathing when the rest of me was fit.
Guys, I think I'm actually beginning to get excited now! We can do this! We're all going to do it! Woooooo!

Sorry you had a bad run R, I would've been there but was getting my hair done. I'm jealous at your snoozing on the sofa... I'm doing spreadsheets & databases til 5pm. And again tomorrow. Half day on Friday :-).
We are going to do it! It's exciting and I can't wait to see everyone

Loving the positivity R and mrs s - woohoo indeed and yay and yeehah and we can do it etc.
I know John K says not to waste too much nervous energy on Fri night, but I am going to say a happy hi with hugs to lots of pals. I won't bounce about or stand up/walk about any more than necessary, but I want to enjoy the moment of being in this event. It's a big deal to me and toeing the start line is part of the experience as far as I'm concerned. G

And I do agree that overanalysing Paul G's potential race in a forum that he's part of like he's a race horse or something did seem a bit intrusive. I just went for a "Good luck Paul" type message myself. G
