It really does depend where you live and trial and error to find one that is pretty accurate.because I live on a mountain ,surrounded by mountains all of them are useless to me.

LOL My phone is Google so that gives me weather Mr Pix tells me weather off BBC as he thinks that's good and I have the Met Office app .... which is different to the BBC despite the met office giving them weather?! |

I used like the met office app before we moved as found it the most accurate. Here my best bet is my weather station so if it says on getting up 2 degrees it means it is actually 1 or even -2. |

I wrote a blog about weather forecasts a few weeks ago, EvilPixie.... fetcheveryone.com/blog/1814/2022/11/457288 It was suggested that the Met Office app is good so that's the one I've been using since. |

Hi - someone (minimag? Sorry can't remember and can't find!) kindly recommended a home weather station Ecowitt wifi etc. amazon.co.uk Looks like reviews (or one) says that it's not accurate, or requires calibration for accuracy. My requirement is for wind speed and direction. It could be quite a simple monitor, but I would like to store the data over a period of weeks or months. So this electronic type with wifi that can then be downloaded from internet seemed great. But it's got to be accurate (well to 1 m/s anyway) or it would be useless for me! Any recommendations gratefully received. G |

With weather recording equipment you get what you pay for. Shel has a Davis Instruments weather station that cost around £750 a few years ago. It comes with software that lets you do just about anything you want. There's a phone app as well. The model Shel has is middle to high end amateur. The pro stuff costs a lot more. |

£750 is a bit much for me FR. Do you think that anything at £100 is useless then?
