I know its been asked a million times, but after being soaked to the skin this morning in my Ronhill jacket, can anyone recommend a waterproof running jacket what actually stops you from being soaked to the skin ? Thanks

That should read 'that' actually stops you not 'what'.

These are fabulous wiggle.co.uk

(Other retailers are available.)

Properly waterproof, durable, and don't rustle. I love mine :)

I wear the extra small size and I'm a size 8 in normal clothes. I can fit a layer or two underneath it comfortably. There's a size guide on the listing.

serious question - don't you get all horribly hot and sweaty inside a waterproof jacket whilst running though?
or am I just being thick?

Go Outdoors do perfectly good water-resistant Montane jackets, super-light and keeps everything but the heaviest torrents off, for about 30 or 40 quid.

There is no such thing as a fully breathable waterproof jacket in the UK climate. So ... yes, HellsBells, most folk will get condensation inside the jacket. But sometimes being warm and damp is better than being cold and soaked through.

I prefer the splashproof ones ... more breathable but resist some of the rain! There were some waterproof hiking jackets in Aldi the other day though - they were hooded but the hood zipped off. Would be cheapish and they were very light. Might be worth a shot!
