HappyG(err) - not a blind runner but a lady who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, with some other issues, who has always wanted to run the LM. Just need to get her across that finish line.

Nice one ageingtractor. Great thing to do. Best of luck to you both. It's very rewarding to help someone else in their race and to see them achieve their goal. G

Hi all, advice from TFL regarding the proposed strike action this weekend. In summary a limited service will be put on with extra buses to help us get to expo and start line tfl.gov.uk |

Another email from VLM is out re: strike. The most relevant part in it is that ‘Please remember that Registration will close promptly at 17:00 on Saturday 21 April. For operational reasons we are unable to issue race packs after 17:00 and, if you haven’t picked up your number by then, you will not be able to take part.‘ |

Hey, does anyone know what goal times the pacers are going and how easy they are to find/stick with?

NB. They can be a pretty crowded affair, with lots of folks bunching around them!

Last time I did the VLM I did 3:04 - and overtook the 3:15 pacer, who was running alone, along the embankment. If you are planning to use a pacer make sure you have a back up plan and also check the pace is as advertised.

The pacers at London are pretty shocking with their pacing as well. Also, because of the multiple starts you'll potentially find the 3:15 pacers from one start infront of the 3:00 pacers from another start. Best avoided and rely on the mile markers on the side of the road and your watch. |
