Sigh
I need a load of ringers to pass through Div. 15 so I can resume my usual spot of bouncing between 15 & 16...

I’m 8th in division 19 after improving my 1mile and 5k times today. I could potentially get up to 5th if I do a good enough half. I’ve no hope of promotion for weeks to come as there are loads of athletes in the divisions below. For the time being it’s all about finishing 4th. Must be the same for lots of people.

Hello,

Hopefully someone can hep me with this (but if not it's no big deal really!) I did a solo 5k time trial this morning on the Keswick parkrun course - it's accurately measured and even has permanent KM and mile markers! But it's in the trees for a bit, and you also run through a longish tunnel (twice) - so GPS can lose its way a bit. I think that's what has happened here. I've knocked a decent chunk off my UTMOST 5k time but it's not picked it up/pulled through. This is the run:

Is there anything I can do to smooth out the bit where the GPS goes off so it does pull through? I've had a play with the 'Split/Merge' function but I don't think it's either of those.

I did think of listing it in my race portfolio as if I'd done the actual parkrun event (so it would pull through from there) but I didn't - I had to be at work for 9:00am so I did the route myself early morning.

Any help gratefully received, and if it's not to be then no prob. I won't lose any sleep over it!!

Thanks

I've had this a couple of times with parkruns, I believe Utmost strictly adheres to the gps, so 5.01k would count, but 4.99k doesnt. As a result, if I've done a good time I dont stop my garmin until I am well down the funnel

You could a new event as 'Keswick freedom parkrun' or similar and add it to your race portfolio that way.

LS21 the post by Fetch at the bottom of this page fetcheveryone.com/forum/utmost-59142/51 explains why your 5k run hasn't been picked up for UTMOST.
I don't know of a way to smooth out your run. I guess you'll have to run another 5k that isn't GPS affected.

Thanks all (and sorry I missed the post by Fetch that already explains this....!) The idea re adding it as a 'Freedom parkrun' race is a good one, but I'll just leave it. It's no big deal really - I'll have a pop at another one in a week or so's time. Thank you :)

It's happened to me today, but the wrong way round. I did a half today in 1.42, but it shifted my running (it was laps around goodwood) and added .7 of a mile to it. I tried editing, but it still shows my half pb @ 1.39 (not 1.42), and some of my other bests at far quicker than I actually did them in, if you see this Fetch can you take a look please

It takes the GPS for 21.11km, so if the course measures long you get a better time. It happened to a few of mine - I am not sure you can do anything about it apart from putting the official time against the race in your portfolio and deleting the activity (which I wouldn’t do as you lose metrics)

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
Start in the bottom division, and compete over seven different distances against your rivals for weekly promotion!

How It Works
1) The game takes your best times from training and racing over the last 12 months.

2) If you've got the fastest 5k in your division, you get 20 points. If you're second fastest, you get 19 points, etc.

3) Your FIVE best scores are used to calculate your total. So if your scores at each distance are 20,20,20,20,20,10,5 the lowest two are discarded, and your total points would be 100.

4) Promotion and relegation happen every Monday at midday.
