I've been stuck in div 22 forever, if I hadnt quit I would have a div 8 (and possibly a div 7) badge - due to those who all reset above me.I was too quick too press that button. I have no hope of achieving those badges as the best I can hope for is about div 9.
Advice for those close to promotion positions is to hang on until all the relegation positions above you are gone, you will regret resetting otherwise!

I reset when I'd got to Division 6 and the relegation spots in division 5 were too good for me, never mind the competition already in 6. I was pleased to get that high but I wouldn't be there when things settle down, and I have a top 50 badges ranking to think about 🙂

Ditto minimag & pothunter. I'm stuck in division 22 and likely to remain there unless I get relegated. Never did understand this game!

All of it! But don't worry, it's not something I actively try to follow or change. It's just there as part of the background and I let it do its own thing!

It's good for everyone if I can make sure the game is easy enough to understand. How's this for an explanation?

1) The game takes your best times from training and racing over the last 12 months.

2) If you've got the fastest 5k in your division, you get 20 points. If you're second fastest, you get 19 points, etc.

3) Your FIVE best scores are used to calculate your total. So if your scores at each distance are 20,20,20,20,20,10,5 the lowest two are discarded, and your total points would be 100.

4) Promotion and relegation happen every Monday at midday.

Thank you fetch - it appears that I'm not going up because I'm the slowest by far in all (bar one, I think) distances :-) So if I can improve from a 9.06 mm to 5.18 mm, and from a marathon of 4.33 to a 2.42, then I'll win my division?

I won't hold my breath :-)
